Simche Remakes Dokshitzer Nigun

Singer Simche Friedman and the Malchus Choir sing the Chabad melody from Dokshitz and expect it to become a hit at weddings.

As the summer begins, Chassidic singer Simche Friedman has released a new single with the pulsating and joyous 'Dokshitzer Niggun'.

This is a modern arrangement of a lively Chabad melody composed by Chassidim who lived in the town of Dokshitz, near Minsk and Vilna, which had a Chabad presence from the time of the Alter Rebbe.

It is number 145 in Sefer HaNiggunim.

The fast-moving arrangement is the work of multi-talented Moshe (Mushmush) Avraham, the vocal backups are by Pinchas Bichler and the Malchus Choir, and the mix comes from Eli Klein.

The picture on the cover shows the structure of the synagogue of the Lubavitcher Chassidim in Dokshitz. This picture - which was originally taken in black and white - Was found in the archives of the town of Dokshitz And was repainted with a special technique.

The single is part of an entire album of Chabad Niggunim which the team is working on now. The album will feature many songs that are not so well known.

'The Dokshitzer Niggun' is sure to become a staple at weddings and Simchas in the years to come.
